We bought our new motor home from Thomson Leisure, a big thanks to Robin and the team who were very professional and easy to deal with, they followed through with everything they said they would do. All we had to do was make our choice and they did everything else it was really so very easy they were really super. Robin was great he wasn't pushy at all he asked us what we had in mind, he pointed us in the right direction and left us to it without hovering over us or anoying us, he gave us enough time to look around and than came when we needed him.We love our new van we are very happy with our experience and the service we received, we definitely have would no hesitation recommending this company. Now we can't wait for our first trip.

I feel I have to share my experience of Thompson Leisure in the hope it is helpful for anyone deciding whether to go ahead and deal with them. The end of this review explains what inspired me to take the time to review. My wife and I purchased a new motorhome five years ago and the purchase process was perfect, no question too stupid, completely honest feedback all the time and it really showed that this is a well run family business with a very loyal following. The complete opposite of some shady car sales trying to ‘cross sell’ and ‘up sell’ for profit. The Sales team prefer to be honest and have happy customers making well informed decisions. So, we travelled the UK and Ireland and stayed in places we never would have otherwise seen, incredible memories (and a huge collection of fridge magnets!). The After Sales and Service team at Drumbreeze Road are incredible knowledgeable, honest and professional. Very reassuring as often some companies Sales are let down badly by After Sales. My wife and I felt confident enough to get a bigger motorhome last year and travel around Europe. Again, the advice and honesty of the friendly Sales Team was paramount in making our choice and this being a large purchase, I priced dealers across the UK but the choice to go with Thompsons was easy. Had to wait a good few months due to the popularity of motorhoming and scarcity of models at the time but it was well worth the wait. Handover day at Drumbreeze Road was perfection! Despite being seasoned motorhomers, we had a plethora of (probably OTT) questions but the handover was so enjoyable, again no question too stupid. I had also requested some upgrades and extras (Sky Q satellite dish etc) and everything was perfect. I am just back from several months of a Grand Tour of Europe (including Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France and Spain) and a lifetime of terrific memories (and more fridge magnets!). While I was away, in Spain, I had a problem. A huge thunderstorm and Spanish electrics caused a fault in my motorhome electrics. I could either have 12v or 240v but not both at the same time. We were devastated and thought of returning home, several months early :-( I rang Stephen at Drumbreeze Road but didn’t expect much could be done as we were nearly 2,000 miles away. Well , how wrong was I. Stephen was incredible. He was very professional and between him and his professional team of engineers, they managed to help us to resolve the issues and hence save our Grand Tour. The phrase ‘above and beyond’ is used a lot but in this case, it doesn’t even come close to the After Care we received. All the more important as we were very stressed and upset but Stephen was truly incredible and deserves a cape! I feel obliged to say I am in no way related to Thompson Leisure and have not been asked to provide a review. Overall, an exceptional company to deal with that is very rare and deserves the recognition.

February 2024 Reply to Thompson’s after seeing their response, Our Hymer B544, 2015, is immaculate inside, 22,000 miles on clock, outside there are about 3 minuscule marks, Service History is up to date, Winter Tyres half worn, the excuse you were using was it hadn’t had a Habitation Service, we assured you there was no water ingress, all this was put forward at the NEC. You should not promise things you cannot deliver. Yes you gave us a month to sell it ourselves but we are in the process of moving home after 30years here, and we have no time to sell our Van on top of all the stress of moving. Also after the way you treated us we decided not to give you our business. ………At the NEC Show in Oct 2022, we put a deposit of £4,500, on a New Rapido, the price we were assured by Derek, ex Director, would be held, the actual owner of Rapido, who was present, reaffirmed this, even if the Van took until 2024 to come in. We were given a part ex price for our 2015 Hymer B544, Gold in Colour, immaculate in our eyes for it’s age. This price was also assured to be held. And the collection/delivery to Wales would be free. The Rapido came in January 2024, yes the price would be held, but the part ex price had been dropped by £11,000. Reason was the Rapido had increased in price by £9,000. Also delivery would not be free. Therewere all sorts of excuses why they couldn’t hold the part ex price. In our opinion this Company did not turn out to be trustworthy or honourable. Consequently we have had our Deposit returned, with no interest!

Honestly cant say enough about how good of an experience it was to deal with John in Thompsons. When purchasing a vehicle he was full of knowledge , understand of what was wanted and what our needs in a vehicle would be. The purchase was seem- less and he was always available to answer any questions (no matter how stupid !) we might have had. We paid £60k for a van the problems we’ve had with it are unacceptable. The bench frame that makes the bed has snapped,the heating has failed on numerous occasions, the the oven collapsed and after it was repaired the oven door no longer closes properly. At the moment we are off the road again as the heating has stopped working and the whale system needs replaced. They have an employee Glen who is rude and unhelpful. He had a cheek to question about warranty on the broken bed! We have fixed the bed ourselves and getting a more reliable engineer to replace the broken heating. Don’t expect any after service from this company once you drive you new Motorhome off courtyard!
